The Corps of Scientific, Criminal and Criminalistics Investigations (CICPC) has been dedicated to fight against animal abuse and has decided to create the Coordination of Investigations Against Animal Cruelty whose headquarters will be located in Colinas de Vista Alegre, Caracas.

Douglas Rico, its director, has been keeping up with complaints about animal cruelty, and the movement of animal lovers nationwide have been raising awareness about animal abuse and the recent actions to prevent it. This new coordination has been created because of all this, and its headquarters are being refurbished, although initially all the departments of the Investigation are able to receive complaints of animal abuse.

The National Service of Medicine and Forensic Sciences (SENAMECF by its Spanish initials) has a dedicated veterinarian to study and certify the injuries received by animals whose cases are being presented before the C.I.C.P.C.

The new Coordination will also be in charge of handling cases related to the illegal hunting and sale of wildlife. They will be working alongside Misión Nevado, whose headquarters in San Bernardino, currently receive complaints of abuse.

The public needs to keep a vigilant eye on the aggressors and to correctly document the complaints of mistreatment of animals, because that way the authorities can easily locate and capture the responsible for those events.
